Arizona State Loan Repayment Program
Program Description
The Arizona State Loan Repayment Program provides loan repayment assistance to healthcare professionals who provide outpatient primary care services in designated Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSA).
Program Goals and Impacts
The Arizona State Loan Repayment Program aims to encourage healthcare professions to practice in HPSA areas for a set number of years. Impacts of this program include an increased number of healthcare professionals practicing in rural areas and HPSA.
Funding Information
Participating primary care providers may be able to pay a majority or all qualifying student loan debt for a service commitment of at least 6 years in an underserved area of the State. Award amounts vary.

To attain sustainability encourage interest in providers wanting to work in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSA) or Arizona Medically Underserved Areas (AzMUA).

Challenges to sustainability may include:
Continued funding for loan repayment.
