Applicant

Individuals who make themselves eligible for a desired goal or opportunity.

Assignment

To transfer to another; especially found in a trust or a document to satisfy financial or similar obligations.

Assistance

To give; usually supplementary support or aid.

Award

To give as due or merited; assign or bestow.

Awardee

Individual who is conferred or bestowed upon as being deserved, merited, or needed.

Bequest

The act of giving or leaving something through a will or similar document.

Challenges

A problem, barrier, or desire perceived by individuals or groups as difficult to achieve or overcome.

Eligibility

Qualified to participate or to be selected.

Endowment

To provide something freely or naturally. May be money or service.

Fellowship

A community of individuals who have similar or the same interest, activity, feeling, or experience.

Gift

Something given voluntarily without payment in return; or as a gesture to assist or support.

Impact

Having a direct effect or influence.

Initiative

An act or strategy intended to resolve a difficulty or improve a situation; a fresh approach to something.

Opportunity

A perceived opening or prospect desired and pursued by individuals or groups.

Pending

Not yet decided or determined.

Prize

Something offered or striven for in compeition or in contests of chance.

Scholarship

Money or resources to aid student education or other advancement.

Sponsorship

The position or function of a person or group who vouches for, supports, advises or helps fund another person or an organization or project. 

Stipend

A fixed sum of money paid periodically for services or to defray expenses.

Subsidy

A grant or gift to assist others; often money.

Sustainability

Capacity, resources, and/or desire to continue providing resources/services; to be long-lasting.
